Danbury and Waterbury were not a big deal, they were done by RDCs and FL 9s every day. Here we see the trip at New Canaan, which almost never saw diesel powered trains. BTW, the RDCs apparently were balky that day, and the trip ran with a pair of coaches sandwiched between a pair of FL 9s. |

As I recall(30!years later) there was a mechanical issue with the Budd cars, and a pull-pull train powered by FL 9s was run. The cars were an ex Amtrak coach and this SEPTA ex Reading car. |
