Westbound at the station
Title:  Westbound at the station
Description:  The better known station of the two in Glen Cove was Glen Street. It was adjacent to NY 107, and also was featured in a Maxwell House commercial in the late 70s/early 80s. The Glen Cove station was a more attractive building, but back in town, and did not get the exposure. Heres a westbound Oyster Bay train making a stop there.

Seen from above
Title:  Seen from above
Description:  There was a spot above Glen Cove that had a commanding view of the Glen Street station and the S curve just to the west. Here we see an eastbound train taking the curve as it approaches its station stop. Too bad theres so much clitter, but thats Long Island.

Classic Victorian
Title:  Classic Victorian
Description:  The station at Sea Cliff was consistent with many of the homes in the area, a great looking Victorian structure that was a magnificent contrast to the lackluster stations at Albertson or Greenvale.

Waiting for time
Title:  Waiting for time
Description:  An Oyster Bay train waits to get underway at the end of the line. Its leader tonight is an MP 15 set up in power pack mode. I followed this train to Greenvale. Sometimes later in the evening, you could actually chase, if you chose your spots carefully and had some luck with the lights.

Title:  Working for the road
Description:  RF 7, the west end day freight, works at Fresh Pond, pulling cars down from Conrail on the overhead ex NH line. Trailing unit 167 is set up to work as a power pack on passenger trains. Here we see that such units are not exempt from freight service when the need arises.
