One of my favorite photo spots was along NY 17C about two miles east of Waverly, where this down on shot showed not only the train, but the expanse of the valley as well. Train 891 adds to the scenery on this June evening. Note the D&H lettering on the 4th head car. These cars were on their last legs by this time. Also, note the semaphore on track 2 at far left. This was one of the last ones to go. |

I was able to catch up to this 891 after the shot from NY 17C, as he was slowing for the signal at Waverly to meet an eastbound. At speed, cathing a train here after getting him at the previous location was impossible. |

Train 412 rolls across Martins Creek with an eclectic mix of power. This train, counterpart 413, and 12T/13T were the most likely trains on this route to get unusual power, as todays 412 shows. It has 69 cars in tow, some of which will eventually arrive at Linwood on the ex Southern. |
