Train 4012 was one of my favorite photographic subjects. It ran with a good sized consist and always had a power pack on the rear, though it was almost always an MP 15. Today its headed east with the typical MP 15 set for train heat and light bringing up the rear. |

Train 4012 was the mid day weekend train to Montauk. It often ran to 14 cars, due to its function to return parlor cars to the east end for Sunday night and Monday morning trains. An MP 15 was typically used as a power pack on this train, as we see at Bellerose. |
