Northbound at the old Santa Fe station |
Description: |
A northbound grain train passes the former Santa Fe station in Oklahoma City as seen from the 15th floor of the Renaissace Hotel. The ATSF maintained their own station there, with the Rock Island, Frisco, and MKT using Union Station closer to the Oklahoma River several blocks away. |

Panoramic view |
Description: |
A view from our room at the Renaissance in downtown OKC yields this view of the Santa Fe station, where Amtraks train to Dallas originates. Most of the traffic is freight, though, the Texas Chief having long ago departed here for the last time. A northbound grain train rolls past, empties heading to Kansas City. |
