I decided to head home after chasing the TXUX train to Westville, since there wasnt likely to be another train for a while. To my surprise, I heard a train in the trees just north of Watts, so I did a quick turn around to catch him rolling up to the yard office. |

The coal train was to hold for a northbound, which was going to be a while, since the previous southbound was probably not yet to Stilwell, the next possible meet point. I got this shot of it from the shoulder of US 59, getting the nose in sun, the rest of the train in a dark side contrast as it waited at CP South Watts. Note the switch lined for the siding. The northbound will likely work here, accessing the yard from the siding. |
