Working hard
Title:  Working hard
Description:  The days following the departure of the C 628s marked a move toward four axle power, most of it hand me downs from LV and Reading, mostly GP 38s and 39s, but also a group of C 420s from LV. D&H did get some of its own power, among them a dozen U 23Bs, one of which is leading this northbound coal train on Richmondville hill. These units would ultimately wind up on Maine Central during the Guilford era, along with the 1976 GP 39-2s.
