Oyster Bay trains meet |
Description: |
One of the scheduling features of the Oyster Bay Branch is that the trains will meet in Mineola. This is not really necessary, since the line is double track to Locust Valley, but it does work well for connections to the rest of the system. A westbound train pushes toward Jamaica as the eastbound rolls into the station. |

In his honor |
Description: |
LIRR was honoring at least a few of their employees who served in the first Gulf War. Here, on engine 258 at Mineola, we see a plaque for Paul Pombonyo. I hope he got home OK following his service, and has gone on to a good life back in the states. |
