Almost
Title:  Almost
Description:  The 181 and its 25 stack platforms has passed the last spot of sun along MO 59 south of Anderson, just a little too late to get some light on the power. Oh well...longer days are coming.

Just a little too late
Title:  Just a little too late
Description:  I had started to head back for home, when I spied the 181 through the trees. I was out of position to get him at Noel, so chased to Ginger Blue for a shot on the bridge. Its not sun side this time of year, and I was only able to get a shadow side shot.

Last sun
Title:  Last sun
Description:  I beat the 181 to Lanagan, where the last sun was peeking over the hill. The train rolls past the automatic at MP 195, and a stack of cast off concrete ties.

Better lit
Title:  Better lit
Description:  The lighting was better for the going away shot, and we see the power in a better light as it moves away from me,

One more at Wolf Creek
Title:  One more at Wolf Creek
Description:  I took off, making the side trip to Wolf Creek just ahead of the train, catching it as the shadows now covered the waterway.

Snaking along
Title:  Snaking along
Description:  The empty coal train beat me to the Ark 59 overpass in Sulphur Springs, but I was able to get him approaching the Kingshighway crossing at Noel, snaking through the curves along Butler Creek

Waiting for a meet, and a surprise
Title:  Waiting for a meet, and a surprise
Description:  There was some chatter about a train to the north, at McElhany, and it seemed my coal train was going to be held here at Noel. When I got up into town, I found it sitting at the station, now city hall, with an unexpected companion, the Loram rail grinding train, which had been working on the line earlier in the week.

Waiting
Title:  Waiting
Description:  There was chatter about a train at MdElhany, the next siding to the north, and a power swap. It seemed the coal train would be sitting a bit. It was getting toward twilight, and I had dinner waiting, so time to head home. Still, three trains in a short afternoon chase aint too shabby.
