In the chips |
Description: |
TV 26 rolls 4 COFC and 39 autos past the Frito Lay plant in Kirkwood. The 84 lumber yard is now a memory. Theyve been gone for 20 years as I write this. |

TV 79 |
Description: |
One of the hotter van trains to run the Water Level Route was TV 79, which was a direct connection to the Santa Fe at Chicago, along with TVLA. The two often ran close to each other, one almost on the others blocks. Here, TV 79 passes the old NYC 1957 station at Dewitt with 74 TOFC and 28 stacks. Even at this late date, it was not uncommon to find sets of 4 motor power on van trains. |
