412 |
Description: |
Train 412, a run through to NS at Enola, crosses Martins Creek Viaduct just south of Kingsley PA. The bridge was part of the DL&W cutoff, cbmplered in 1915, and is a smaller sister to the Nicholson Bridge, just a few miles south. |

Slow start |
Description: |
There was a long slow order on the line to Scranton, enabling several shots along NY 7 through Conklin. This is one, near Stillwater, with 74 cars of 13T rolling south behind a not all that uncommon visitor. |

Gaining speed |
Description: |
13T rolls toward the PA 706 underpass, picking up speed as it heads down the old DLW. The BNSF unit is notable, though not uncommon on this train, which seemed to get western power pretty routinely. The trailing unit is the real surprise, a B40-8. NS did not have many of these, and none purchased by NS itself. This is a legacy CR unit. |
