TV 79 |
Description: |
TV 79 was a hot van train that ran through to Santa Fe to become their 199 train. It got priority over pretty much everything. Here it is behind typical power for this type train at that time, a quartet of GP40-2s. |

TV 79 |
Description: |
TV 79 was one of the hottest trains on the railroad, only a little cooler than TVLA, which was a direct run through to the Santa Fe. TV 79 also handled Santa Fe traffic, but did not run through, and had to transfer across Chicago. I think it may have also handled cars for Chicago delivery at 51st St. Here we see it blasting through the station behind a four unit set of GP 40-2s, a common power set for this type train. |
