Game of inches |
Description: |
The RS 3s that previously ran trains to Montauk were relatively short, and the FMs didnt MU, so there was not a problem trying to get a pair of units in the tail track there. But the C 420s were longer, and often ran in pairs on the weekend parlor car trains in the summer. It took just about every inch of track to get them to clear the switch at the station so they could get out and run around their train. A pair is just about making it in this shot on an August afternoon. |

Now what |
Description: |
There is a pair of Centuries in the tail track at the east end of the station in Montauk, and now another train has arrived from Jamaica, and cant get their power turned. Guess the second train will have to back out and head to the yard, though its possible these units could tie on, and all four diesels back the train out. Looks like theres a conference going on in front of the 212 over who will do what. |
