Underway |
Description: |
31T rolls west over the Chenango River on the DLW bridge as it clears downtown and heads for Buffalo with 71 cars. This view highlights the concrete construction the DLW was noted for. The arches on the approach are typical reinforced concrete. The adjacent Erie bridge was(and is) steel. The red brick building to the right of the train is Derby Knitting Mills, which would burn to the ground in a spectacular fire ten years hence. |

GEs rolling to BD |
Description: |
41T rolls past the north end crossovers with 71 cars, making its way to BD and the Tier with three GEs. Not too many years ago, there was nary a GE road unit to be found in Canada. Now CN, CP, and QNSL all roster them. |
