A 261 train rolls around the big curve going into Canaseraga as seen from the NY 70 overpass. The Erie once had grade separated mains here, the eastbound being higher. That track was abandoned when Conrail single tracked the line in 1992. The view from up here is stunning on a nice day. |

In the first few years after 9/11, it was not uncommon for train crews to be antagonistic toward fans. Some of the CSX River Line crews seemed to take great pleasure in calling in anyone who appeared trackside with a camera. Thus, it was nice to get a wave from an engineer, as here with 165 at Nowlan Rd. |

Once clear of those obstacles, it will start its run to Belden tunnel in earnest. Todays effort has six units-including one of SOO's five SD60M's-for its 128 cars, a heavy train in this era. |
