Wet day at Dalby
Title:  Wet day at Dalby
Description:  My friend and fellow RRPA contributor David Sommer was in town for a visit on his way to the west coast, and was hoping for some good KCS photos. The prize was a southbound road train with a KCS leader in good sun. So of course, it rained most of the first day he was here, and we saw only this northbound. An 89 car H train rolls past the signal at the south end of Dalby.

Meeting the dodger
Title:  Meeting the dodger
Description:  The northbound H train rolls past the dodger, which is working Pipelife Jetstream, and is behind the road train. We had hoped the H train would be slow enough so that the dodger, which was backing cars into the pipe plant, would be side by side. Not to be. Meet shots are always a challenge, and timing is everything. Oh well...

Why the grainer was waiting
Title:  Why the grainer was waiting
Description:  Soon a northbound appeared, with what has now become a typical mix of CP and KCS power. This train had 36 stack platforms and six articulated auto racks. In the old days-two months ago-this would have been the Q train. Now its the MMX-181, headed for Chicago. The grain train has cut the train at the crossing here where Ark 59B crosses the tracks, north of he Little Debbie plant. Hell be there a while.
