Milliken coal |
Description: |
The coal trains to NYSEGs Milliken Station, north of Ithaca, though there were usually three up and down in any given week, ran on an irregular basis, and could show at any time, so it was always a treat to find one. This 125 car train bound for the power plant is northbound behind a leader that is familiar with the territory as it rolls through West Danby on the ex LV. |

Coal north with NS power and a western visitor. |
Description: |
It was common for NS power to run through to New England on coal trains. Here we see a three unit set headed north at Bainbridge. Ironically, the BNSF unit carries the number of the last RS 36 to run on the D&H. |
