Title:
CN power west
Description:
Train 41T was changed to 31T in March 2004, keeping the same end points as a run through to Canadian National, and typically got CN power in this time period. Here a solid set of CN units lead 71 cars out of Binghamton.

Title:
Underway
Description:
31T rolls west over the Chenango River on the DLW bridge as it clears downtown and heads for Buffalo with 71 cars. This view highlights the concrete construction the DLW was noted for. The arches on the approach are typical reinforced concrete. The adjacent Erie bridge was(and is) steel. The red brick building to the right of the train is Derby Knitting Mills, which would burn to the ground in a spectacular fire ten years hence.

Title:
GEs rolling to BD
Description:
41T rolls past the north end crossovers with 71 cars, making its way to BD and the Tier with three GEs. Not too many years ago, there was nary a GE road unit to be found in Canada. Now CN, CP, and QNSL all roster them.

Title:
Red in the afternoon
Description:
This was a banner day for chasing the Canadian trains. I caught 31T at Binghamton and chased to Dalton, then got this shot of what my notes call 12K(though it looks like a 30T) with 105 cars near Swains, its lead unit catching the low sun of a September afternoon.
