Taking the signal |
Description: |
The northbound empty oil train approaches the signal at the north end of the siding, about to take the main heading north. Home signals on KCS are single head: either you go, or you dont, its red or green, by and large. In the northeast where I came from, this would be a two head signal, red over green. |

Not always sunny skies |
Description: |
We all like to get that nicely lit shot, with the puffy cloud Kodachrome sky, but today was not it. Northbound 115 car empty oil train rolls toward the end of the siding at North Siloam behind a pair of BNSF units, as the gloom closes in on a Novermber Friday afternoon. |
