The Conrail track geometry train made several trips per year over the Southern Tier with its specialized sensors to measure track gauge, rail profile, surfacing, etc. Today finds it tied up at Binghamton, on the DLW side, with its assigned B 23-7.

Title:
Track geometry train
Description:
Conrail had a track geometry train that took all kinds of engineering measurments on the track structure. It was permanently assgined to B23-7 1933, which was specially outfitted to work with the equipment in the cars. We see it on the ex LV at Sayre, laying over for a trip down the Lehigh Line the next day.
