Beach ball |
Description: |
A GP 40 type sits at Port Jervis waiting out the weekend. Metro North contracted NJ Transit to operate the line from Suffern west, and contributed equipment to a pool used to run those trains. This unit in the "beach ball" schem was part of that pool. |

Comparing notes |
Description: |
What was it the engines said?? GP 40s from two roads share quality time waiting for Monday. The Metro North unit was new at the time, freshly rebuilt. The NJT unit was also rebuilt, having been upgraded from its original steam era configuration to HEP power, as well as renewing all components. |
