Q train in the hollow |
Description: |
QNLKC rolls north just beyond the end of Dorsey siding, digging into the climb to Gravette. Interesting side note: I worked for JB Hunt at their Lowell Ark headquarters for several years. As everyone knows, they are a huge intermodal user. In the lobby, there is a display of model trains from the major rail partners. These consist of one or two units in HO scale, and some stack cars. This is the unit on the KCS display. The one on the wall is in the Belle scheme. Not so in real life!! |

Empty grain back north |
Description: |
A northbound empty grain train rolls toward the Kenwood St crossing in Siloam, its bright colors in contrast to the advancing greenery of spring. This was one of those dumb luck shots. I was coming back across town after lunch and a couple of errands, just when the gates went down. I figured it would be the dodger-at that time of day, it usually is-but got a surprise when this guy showed up. Once in a while, I win one!! |
