Headed for home
Title:  Headed for home
Description:  A big crowd waits on the Harlem Line train to Grand Central as July 4th weekend winds down. Most of the people there just came off the RDC at right, which covered the trip down from Dover Plains. Good thing the guy with the Suburban didn't leave his driver's side door open!!

Connection
Title:  Connection
Description:  The connection to the upper Harlem trains was moved from Brewster to a new station at Brewster North, but the hand off continued as it had for years. An FL 9 powered train would come up from Grand Central, passengers for the Dover Plains run would make an across the platform change to an RDC.

Dover Plains shuttle
Title:  Dover Plains shuttle
Description:  Metro North-actually still Conrail under contract to MTA at this point-was using an RDC to protect the schedule north of Brewster to Dover Plains. It was a fun ride if you didnt have to do it every day!!

Big bridge
Title:  Big bridge
Description:  I had always wanted to get a train here ever since I first saw this bridge in 1973. It took me a few years to get here, largely due to youth and lack of resources. By then, the EL power was all gone, but I did get RDCs and U34s there, though by then they were NJ Transit. Still a good spot, even today. Thats NY 59 in the foreground.

Bare ruined choirs
Title:  Bare ruined choirs
Description:  The shuttle from Suffern stops at the once grand Erie station that has fallen on bad times. Not quite ten years after EL left, it is in disrepair, windows missing or covered with plywood and bricks falling out, holes in the roof. Fate will favor the station, and it will undergo a renovation that will restore its one time elegance.
