Lightning stripe in the snow.
Title:  Lightning stripe in the snow.
Description:  One of D 22s other assignments was to run the Owego & Harford interchange to Owego twice a week, part of the trackage rights that D&H received as a condition of Conrails start up. A variety of power ran these trains over the years, including a wide variety of Alcos. By 2003 the Alcos were gone, but you could still find interesting power on the train. Here we see it head west from the new bridge connecting NY 17C to NY 17 across the river at Apalachin.

Wide view
Title:  Wide view
Description:  The same D 22 as in the close up now in a wide view, allowing us to see more of his 42 cars as he rolls along the Susquehanna. Today we have a lightning stripe unit leading a CP GP 9u, not uncommon for this job.
