Why you dont see many shots from the Mineola Blvd overpass |
Description: |
The wires!!! An Oyster Bay train behind an MP 15 makes its station stop at Mineola in a view obstructed by power lines. Otherwise this would be a great vantage point. |

Homeward bound |
Description: |
An Oyster Bay train makes its stop at Albertson, one of the more obscure stations on the railroad. It was a blacktop platform just north of I U Willets Rd with no facilities. Note the red stripe on the first car, indicating it's a parlor. In this case, it's a subscription car, and not open to the general public, as on the Montauk trains. |

Riding in style |
Description: |
There was one parlor that did not run on the Montauk Branch, a subscription car on the Oyster Bay Branch that was a members only affair. Here it is at Albertson, right behind the power. |

Restricting |
Description: |
The late night Oyster Bay train makes its station stop at Mineola, and is looking at the restricting signal it will accept to take the switch to head up the branch. It will be held to 15 MPH through the turnout, then get a clear signal at the next automatic, just the other side of 2nd Street, to head up the branch. |

Lite MP 15s |

This pair of MP 15s was running light toward Jamaica. If you stayed on the platform at Bellerose long enough, youd see just about anything the LIRR had to offer. |

MP 15 leading |
Description: |
Oyster Bay trains in the off hours tended to have light ridership. This resulted in them having short consists, and often had MP 15s for power, rather than the GP 38s that most of the other lines saw for power. An Oyster Bay train is rolling east at New Hyde Park as it makes its way to its next stop in Mineola. |
