Finally, here he comes
Title:  Finally, here he comes
Description:  I had gone up to dump recycling, but saw nothing, and finally decided to do a quick grocery trip. As I was on my way back to the house, the gates were down at Kenwood St. Figures, and I have ice cream in the car. I did a quick drop at home, and took off after the train. He was in Gentry when I caught him, so I ran up to Decatur to get the shot at the station and signal. He had a stop and proceed at 219-1, which meant a slow roll into town here. Finally, he rolls around the curve toward the station.

Taking the signal
Title:  Taking the signal
Description:  The Q train takes the clear signal at 216-8. Hell get a clear shot through Dorsey, and just barely beat me into Gravette, six miles north. Unfortunately, that will be the closest I get to another shot today.

DPU
Title:  DPU
Description:  The DPU is something of a surprise, a CP unit on a Mexico train, not your typical power on these runs, though that is probably going to be more common as the merger sets in. Today its helping along 114 freight, 14 auto racks, and 22 stack platforms go north.

Bat wings
Title:  Bat wings
Description:  The rear view of the CP GE acting as the DPU on todays Q train. This will be the last shot I get. He beat me into Gravette, so missed him there. The plan was to get him off the Ark 59 overpass north of Sulphur Springs, and again at the low water crossing at Noel, but it wasnt to be, Winds in the area had been 40-50 MPH most of the day, and had knocked down power lines north of Gravette, blocking the line. The Q train was stuck til they were cleared, which didnt happen til after 1900. As if that wasnt enough, there was an empty grain train following about ten minutes behind with a CP/UP duo, that I didnt get a shot of either. Oh well....
