150th Anniversary
The NYSW ran a trip in October 2004 that covered the Syracuse Branch, commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Syracuse, Binghamton & New York, a DLW predecessor. The weather was dismal, as it always is when I do something special, and the train was a consist only the NYSW could cobble together, with a pair of yellowjackets, the Maine Eastern ex New Haven FL 9s. NYSW 142, and a motley assortment of ex LIRR coaches and ex Metra gallery cars. It was still fun to get the miles, even if we couldnt get off at Binghamton.
