| The full consist switches its train prior to heading south to Springdale Ark. We had other things to do, and following the train wasnt in the cards today. The weather was dismal, rain on and off, and, as you can see, heavy overcast. On a sunny day, not taking chase would have been a much harder choice. There are still a good number of Alcos on the roster, serving on locals around the railroad, mostly in northwest Arkansas and the Fort Smith area, as well as the excursions, which remain popular. |
