Rhode Island Av  Contributor's Pick!
The last open stop at this time on the Red Line was Rhode Island Av. Dad got a shot of the station. A plus was the B&O yard down below, which had a B&O geep working farther down. We were staying in a motel in Alexandria, which was a lot cheaper than in DC. We'd drive into the city, passing Potomac Yard going and coming. I saw a lot of Chessie, RF&P, and CR power, but was not able to get photos. The real treat was the night we went past the yard and there was a Chessie train about to roll out on the ex C&O. In consist was WM 7151, one of the red, white and black F 7's. It was after dark, so no photo, but 40 years later, the memory is still vivid.
