Old is new
Title:  Old is new
Description:  The Northwestern Pacific in recent years has had some hard times, and was given up for dead. Rumors of its demise were premature. They do have an operation in the Bay Area, with a couple of operating bases. I happened upon the one in Schellville while visiting friends near Oakland. This is the herald on a gen set. Who would have figured NWP with a genset??

First time
Title:  First time
Description:  The CP-KCS merger was complete in April 2023. Some changes were made fairly quickly: trains were resymbolled, and the detector north of town now announces "CPKC detector, milepost 226.5..." But so far, there has been no outward change to rolling stock or other equipment. Ironically, the first example of the new herald would not be on a train, but on a panel truck. I pulled up behind this truck on US 412 in Siloam Springs one afternoon, to note the new herald on the back. Note also, the "Join our team" sign, also lettered CPKC.

This one is for CPKC de Mexico, so they've gone international with this car. The car's reporting marks are TTGX, including the rack. New herald, but no new reporting marks, so far.
